Eligibility Requirements for Dependent Visa

Family members are defined as:

A third-country national who holds a residence permit having a validity period of at least one year may apply to be joined by family members in Malta.

(i.) The sponsor’s spouse who shall be twenty-one years of age who is engaged in a marriage by law
(ii.) The unmarried minor children of the sponsor and the spouse, including children adopted in a manner
      recognized by Maltese law
(iii.) The unmarried minor children, including adopted children, of the sponsor or the spouse where one of the
      parents has custody and the children are dependent on that parent

1.Application Form duly filled in and signed by the applicant.--
2.Two recent passport size photographs in colour with white background (3.5cm by 4.5cm) Please do not staple the photographs to the application form.--

a) Have a validity of at least 3 months after the intendedstay;
b) Have been issued within the previous 10 years and the validity must not exceed 10 years; and
c) Have 2 blank pages.

6.Photocopy of all Passport Pages of person residing in Malta.--
7.Photocopy of the Residence Permit and Work Permit (ETC).--
8.Original and Certified copies of Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate and other relevant documentation from Municipal Authority.--
9.Proof of sufficient economic means to cover all expenses during the stay in Malta, including copy of bank letter, Original bank statements for the last six months, tax return for past three years and salary slips for last three months --
10.Proof of Accommodation.--
11.Travel Itinerary with travel dates, including a return flight reservation or ticket.--
12.For Minors:
a) Signature of both Parents on all pages of the Application;
b) If traveling with one of the parents a No Objection Affidavit from other parent must beprovided.
c) Overseas travel medical insurance valid for all Schengen countries. The insurance has to cover the applicant for at least 30,000 Euros or equivalent, for all risks e.g. accident, illness, medical emergency, evacuation etc. The policy has to clearly specify the period of validity and has to cover the entire duration of the trip including the date of arrival and departure
